This work explores the relationship between life and death, the spirit and the body. Human thoughts can be recorded through words, bringing the inner world of the mind into tangible form before our eyes. Since the invention of writing, thoughts have been preserved, passed down through generations, and this is why I chose words as the medium of communication. When thoughts are scattered in the form of words, even if the body dies, the soul may live on eternally.
This work is a dual-screen video installation: one screen displays randomly generated phrases, derived from the artist’s daily thoughts and reflections, calculated by a program. The other screen projects the analysis of brainwave data, including β, α, and θ waves, simulating the movement of thoughts along the XYZ axis to represent the ever-changing nature of the mind. The randomly appearing and rotating text symbolizes scattered thoughts, creating the sensation of a conversation with a conscious entity rather than merely interacting with a machine. By visualizing brainwaves and sound, the wave forms of the brain waves are simulated and projected in audio visual software, controlled by a program, mimicking the fleeting nature of thoughts.
