Cut-and-paste(Chien-nien Skill) is a temple craft with deep cultural significance, combining techniques such as wire bending, plaster molding, and glass or ceramic tiles to bring abstract beliefs and culture into a tangible art form.

The traditional cut-and-paste material comes from factory-blown stained glass, which, as the material for the gods and animals, testifies to people's reverence for their beliefs and traditional culture. However, with the development of industrialization, factory-blown stained glass has gradually declined. These glass materials, which have been exposed to the wind, sun and rain, carry the weight of time and history, as well as the weight of faith and cultural inheritance.

Based on my own experience of learning how to Cut-and-paste, this work uses traditional blown stained glass as a creative element. Under the interplay of irregular material shapes and light and shadow, the five elements complement each other and the colors grow and grow together, forming a myriad of changes in the shape of the "cut".
