Catalogue

When art moves beyond the museum and enters everyday life, it opens new possibilities for experiencing the world around us. Supported by YUIMOM GROUP, ALIEN MODE’s OFF-SITE PROJECT connects hospitality and dining, developing diverse experiences shaped by the distinctive character and cultural context of each site—allowing art to flourish in everyday life.

The AMNIS|The Becoming of Objects

Beginning with materiality, the selection explores cultural memory, craft practices, and sustainability. Each work carries the artist’s ideas and creative process beyond its physical form. Rather than seeking ostentatious luxury, it evokes tranquillity, sensory awareness, and renewal through texture, proportion, light, and the passage of time—creating an understated yet profound sensory experience.

YUIMOM Residence|Landscapes In Formation

A landscape brings together personal experience. What makes it unforgettable is not its representation of reality, but the way it reconfigures our relationship with the world.

The lobby brings together four interconnected sections—Poetry in Painting, Refracted Experience, Temporal Landscapes, and Unknown Terrains—transforming landscape from a partial view into a passage to memory.

THE UKAI TAIPEI|Fire and Temperature

Vessels are more than containers for food; they connect taste, touch, and our perception of space. Here, artistic practice enters the dining experience, turning each act of serving, touching, and tasting into an encounter with material, temperature, and the traces of the maker’s hand.

Art Afternoon Tea|Available to dining guests. Places are limited; advance reservations are required. Please call +886-2-7730-1166.

Chun Bar|JT - Red & Yellow

Inspired by James Turrell’s fascination with light and colour, this experience invites guests to discover how light can transform perception. As colour enters the eye and aromas and flavours gradually unfold, the senses are awakened anew.

ALIEN All Day Lounge|ALIEN Garden Pudding

Presented on a handcrafted white-glazed dessert plate, this creation draws inspiration from the shifting light, foliage, and floral scents of the museum garden. Silky pudding, osmanthus caramel, delicate oolong tea, and fragrant pear come together to evoke the garden’s changing sensory impressions across seasons and light.
