In the past, religion, witchcraft, and rituals served as humanity's means of confronting the unknown. Although these traditions are now often regarded as superstitions that invite skepticism, they still offer valuable insights into the spiritual needs of specific cultures and eras through their myths and practices.
In this age of technology and calculation, people continue to rely on divination, talismans, and prayers for inner support. There is considerable ambiguity between belief and disbelief in these practices. Whether regarded as genuine and effective or merely as acts of comfort, prayer appears to be intrinsically connected to the spiritual needs and emotional well-being of humanity.
The work integrates contemporary symbols of good luck, such as “good luck meme”, “Charm paper”, and “Kuai Kuai Corn Snack”, into a fictional religious altar. It aims to infuse humor and absurdity into the notion that faith, witchcraft, and rituals may be inherently neutral, with human desires serving as the true catalyst for madness.

Lien Po Hung
(b. 2000, Taipei, Taiwan)
He is currently pursuing a master's degree at the National Taiwan University of Arts.
Working primarily with video and installation, he explores how techniques, objects, and systems in the technological age shape human perception and states of being—often through an occult lens.
By integrating elements from diverse fields such as mysticism, history, and digital technology, his work aims to create a liminal space that transcends the boundaries of sensibility and rationality. Within this space, the work explores human belief systems, inner spirituality, and the ways in which we shape our understanding of the world.
